The Chinese Classics

These books bring together previously published individual studies, to suggest the growth process behind the major classics, the Shr and the Shu. For the Yi, an attempt is made to isolate a prior state, a low-culture handbook consisting of only 32 pentagrams, which at some point was adapted to the needs of the high palace culture, yielding our familiar hexagram text.Only this last is on the current pupblication schedule.
