American Sinology
1: The World

The first thing to be said is that the Chinese classical texts are not a possession of China. They are now, and for centuries have been, part of the world cultural heritage. As with the Odyssey or the Mahabharata, the Books of Moses or the Laws of Hammurabi, they are available in principle for study by any interested person.
